The Passive Student Is Really Weaker (a Parametrization Scheme for Classifying Models'of Learnability)

چکیده
Abslract We present a systematic framework: for classifying, comparing and defining models of computadonalleamabili1y. Apart from the obvious 'uniformity' parameters we present a novel 'passiveness' notion that captures the difference between 'Guess and Test' learning algorithms and leamability notions for which consistency with the samples guaranlU3 success. We analyze known models in terms of our new parameterization scheme and investigate the relative strength of notions of leamability that correspond to different parameter values. In the last secdon we consider 'proximity' between concept classes. We def. . notions of 'covering' one class by another and show that with respect to leamability they play a role similar to the role of reductions in computational complexity ; If a class is covcrable by a learnable one, then, the farst class too is leamable. We apply the covering technique to resolve some open questions raised in [BI2] and [LMR]. The discussion is carried out in the context of information-theoretic complexity rather than algorithmic complexity. For the sake of concreteness we have also limited the discussion to the setting of learning through randomIy.drawn samples. Nevertheless, our parameters, and consequently our analysis, are relevant to a much wider variety of leammg silUa-dons.

A Review on the Semiconducting Behavior of Passive Films Formed on Mg Alloys by Mott–Schottky Analysis
Mg alloys have a vast usage where weight reduction is really significant since they do the features really well for materials of ultra-light weight. However, Mg is inherently a reactive metal and its alloys generally possess quite weak corrosion resistance that widely restricts their technological usages, especially in some rough service conditions. Despite, many investigations on the passive a...
متن کاملThe Control Parametrization Enhancing Technique for Multi-Objective Optimal Control of HIV Dynamic
In this paper, a computational approach is adopted for solving a multi-objective optimal control problem (MOOCP) formulation of optimal drug scheduling in human immunodeficiency (HIV) virus infected by individuals. The MOOCP, which uses a mathematical model of HIV infection, has some incompatible objectives. The objectives are maximizing the survival time of patients, the level of D...

This paper is introducing a new controlling scheme with second generation wavelet transform and sandia frequency shift (SFS) for islanding detection of inverter-based distributed generation. This new hybrid method combines two active and passive methods through two performance zones. The new hybrid method calculates energy entropy of wavelet coefficients in its passive zone and if it increases ...
متن کاملA Soft-Input Soft-Output Target Detection Algorithm for Passive Radar
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel scheme for multi-static passive radar processing, based on soft-input soft-output processing and Bayesian sparse estimation. In this scheme, each receiver estimates the probability of target presence based on its received signal and the prior information received from a central processor. The resulting posterior target probabilities are transmitted to the c...
متن کاملReligiosity and Cyberspace: A Meta-Analysis on the Studies of Religion and Cyberspace
This paper focuses on the impact of cyberspace on religiosity in Iran through reviewing previous studies. The situation of religion in the age of the internet has always been a major matter of concern for Iranian scholars and policy makers. Accordingly, there have been many researchers who have addressed and approached this problem but there has been no comprehensive understanding of the impact...
